This message is a reminder of the upcoming deadline for the Senior Citizen and Disabled Veterans exemption programs. The deadline for counties to upload their exemption files to the Division of Property Taxation's "County Portal" is September 10, 2024.
Please keep in mind that the Division is not able to grant extensions for this program and late or incorrectly formatted files may result in loss of reimbursement funding to counties.

The Department of Local Affairs, Division of Property Taxation, will be holding a rule making hearing to consider public input on proposed changes to CCR 8 1304-2, Rules and Regulations For Exempt Properties. The current rules may be viewed at the Colorado Secretary of State’s website.
Pursuant to § 39-10-114(3), C.R.S., county treasurers must file an annual report with the Property Tax Administrator by August 25 of each year that includes all taxes abated, refunded, or determined to be uncollectible and cancelled.
This is a reminder to assessors that the annual Abstract of Assessment Report (abstract) to the Division of Property Taxation (Division) is due August 26, 2024 with a lock out date of August 31. The program is available on our website, under County Portal Login.
HB24-1179, 2023 Property Tax Year Updated Abstract has been signed into law by Governor Polis. Thank you to the 62 counties that have completed their updated Abstract of Assessment by the due date of February 20, 2024.
For the remaining 2 counties, please complete an updated Abstract of Assessment by end of Day on Friday, February 23, 2024. The portal will be closed at this time.
