The Division of Property Taxation would like to recognize Property Tax Specialist, Curtis Belcher, for his dedicated and outstanding public service to the citizens of Colorado. After more than 13 years with the Division, Curtis quietly retired this past month.

After graduating from Fort Lewis College in Durango over 30 years ago, he began his career in ad valorem with the Montezuma County Assessor’s Office. He developed his skills as an appraiser in Garfield County and Mesa County, and was elected and served two consecutive terms as the Mesa County Assessor before coming to the Division. Curtis provided his expertise and assistance to Colorado assessors in all areas of ad valorem valuation and administration. He shared his knowledge instructing various appraisal and assessment administration courses and assisting Division instructors during the annual CATA Conference. He often provided on-site assistance and his commitment and dedication to serving assessors and the citizens of Colorado will be sorely missed.

Please join the Division in congratulating Curtis on his long and successful career in Colorado ad valorem, and wishing him peace and happiness in his retirement.
